It's been just over a year now since I switched this website over to Drupal. It was a bit rough at first, not because it was bad but because it comes with a very lean set of modules and to make your site even moderately nice it can take more effort than other websites seem to require. At least, at first.
I've completed the database upgrade for the website. Everything seems to be in order but if you see any bugs, please let me know. Thanks -
If you're not familiar with the idea of "subscribing to a website", don't feel left behind. While this isn't exactly a new concept, it's not yet something most people know about. This is likely to change, however, because it is an extremely useful time saver.
You may find that spending a little time to learn the basics of web subscriptions will pay for itself in very short order. Subscribing to websites is most useful for keeping track of websites where content isn't updated very often - like this one.
In the past, you may have kept a bookmark or favorite of a website you found interesting, but after a while you may have stopped visiting the site because the site wasn't updated enough to bother. Even though you were interested in the site, it may have had new items to read only once in a great while and most of the time you visited the site it hadn't changed at all. So eventually what was interesting enough to bookmark the first time you saw it became a burden to keep track of and was eventually ignored.
Hopefully this will be the one I keep for a while. The website is now running on Drupal. I had it running using Wordpress for a while, and it was quite nice, but as I started to explore adding new features to it I became a little frustrated and starting looking for alternatives. Drupal is a pretty good alternative. We'll see how it goes.
